Jose Loves Chantelle Paige

Here is the first post in a new column discussing girls who we think should be more famous. Women that have all the looks and talent of famous starlets but for some reason just aren’t household names. So let’s get started. Why should Chantelle Paige be famous? Maybe she just needs a little luck, because look at her:

No, seriously - look again. Still not convinced? Sheesh, tough crowd…or gay crowd. Whatever. You’ll agree with me shortly because she got mad skills too, so check it.

Born in Northern California, she currently resides in Los Angeles. She graduated from high school in 2006, so she is probably 18 or 19. Chantelle has been a performer her entire life, acting, modeling, and singing since childhood. She’s been on the cover of toy boxes, starred in commercials,performed in musicals and on championship dance teams. There was even a Chantelle doll produced of her. (No, not that kind of doll you sick bastards.)

Now she is primarily a singer. You can hear a few songs on her MySpace Page, where she is moderately popular with 200,000 friends. While I’m not in the target demographic and don’t care much for pop music, I certainly think her music is on par with what you would hear from other pop princess types. Speaking of which, who is the current teenage pop star for high schoolers that girls want to be like and guys want to be with? Now that Mandy Moore, Christina and Britney are acting, married, and crazy, respectively, someone needs to step in and fill the void. I nominate Chantelle Paige.

(Just a quick aside. I’ve seen recent photos of Mandy Moore at the “Because I Said So” premiere and she looks incredible. Christina Aguilera has never looked better. Those pictures of her squeezed into that sheer dress from this weekend simply defy description. And Britney is now a dead ringer for Bruce Willis in Twelve Monkeys. But I digress.)

Chantelle appears to be a five tool player. How has she not gotten a record deal, appeared on the cover of Blender, and been spotted at Hyde making out with Wilmer Valderrama? I just don’t get it. At the very least, Chantelle Paige should be singing the national anthem before every game played by the Reggie Cleveland All-Stars. With a little bit of luck, I think we’ll be seeing that soon.
